iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.1.2 (8/7/2011)
Important: From now on support is only available for using iPhoto Batch Enhancer with Mac OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard' or Mac OS X 10.7 'Lion' as we don't have the space for other Macintosh configurations. Running the software on older OS versions on Intel or PowerPC-based systems will continue to work, although we won't be able to actively check that for future releases.
Bug Fixes- Some of the iPhoto 9 effects 'Lighten', 'Darken', 'Contrast', 'Warmer', 'Cooler' and 'Saturate' were previously mixed up. Now they are being applied correctly.
- Error reports generated on Mac OS X Lion now contain logging data.
- The launch sequence in Mac OS X Lion has been smoothed a bit.
- Switching to the photos view is now more reliable (e.g. after a relaunch of iPhoto).
- Activating a full license now immediately displays a thank you message.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.1.1 (6/26/2011)
New Features- iPhoto Batch Enhancer is ready for Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.
- Batch processing now works while iPad, iPhone, cameras or memory cards are attached to your Mac.
Bug Fixes- Contains a workaround for a problem in iPhoto 9 that would result in the error message 'Can't make <class ipth> of <class ipal> id 1.2345678E+9 of application "iPhoto" into type Unicode text.'. Thanks a lot for all the error reports!
- No more unnecessary iPhoto restarts after a batch run in iPhoto 8 or previous versions.
- Fixed a problem that would display an incorrect number of runs when used with iPhoto 9.
- Fixes incompatabilities with iPhoto 9 when a movie is part of the batch.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.1 (12/20/2010)
Bug Fixes- Error messages caused by asynchronous behavior of iPhoto 9 are now suppressed.
- When applying scripts sometimes a completely different photo other than the first one was altered. This has been fixed.
- iPhoto's message that you cannot edit movies is now being discarded automatically. When applying scripts this message no longer causes errors.
- In iPhoto 9 sometimes RAW photos weren't detected correctly which resulted in a blue tint when applying Snapshots. This has been fixed as well.
- iPhoto Batch Enhancer no longer displays an error message, when the adjust palette values hadn't been copied at least once.
- In iPhoto 9 the display of the remaining duration no longer vanishes at the beginning of each run.
- Auto-Updates of iPhoto Batch Enhancer work again.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.9 (11/7/2010)
Bug Fixes- Depending on your Mac's language settings applying a Snapshot or enhancing photos could result in an immediate error. This has been fixed now.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.8 (11/7/2010)
New Features- iPhoto Batch Enhancer is now compatible with iPhoto 9 (from iLife '11).
- iPhoto 9 only registers changes in its internal clipboard of adjust values when being restarted - that's the reason why iPhoto 9 restarts more often while iPhoto Batch Enhancer is applying Snapshots.
- Photos are being duplicated in iPhoto 9 prior to external editing. To aid in differentiating the two copies iPhoto Batch Enhancer assigns the following keywords:
- Original (IBE) for the original photo
- Copy (IBE) for the new copy
Since duplication in iPhoto also copies all assigned keywords the new copy may also have the keyword Original (IBE) assigned to it.
In addition iPhoto Batch Enhancer adds original and duplicate photo to the following albums (if activated in the preferences):- iPhoto Batch Enhancer - Originals
- iPhoto Batch Enhancer - Copies
- When a photo is being edited in iPhoto 9 and a single Snapshot is being applied the black, gamma and white values are ignored. Applying them would need a restart of iPhoto, which in turn would save all current changes to that photo.
Bug Fixes- Applying Snapshots from iPhoto 7 or older now work as expected with saturation values. This problem also manifested itself with the initial Snapshot examples of iPhoto Batch Enhancer.
- Preservation of saved adjust slider values wit iPhoto now works correctly with saturation.
- The Script 'Free rotate' now accepts parameters from -360 to 360. Before that it would only accept 1, which might turn out a little bit boring.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.7 (9/23/2010)
New Features- Added two new scripts: 'Crop by pixels' and 'Crop by percent'.
Bug Fixes- Added validation after editing script parameters.
- Fixed handling of certain definition and saturation values when applying a Snapshot. Thanks to Joe for alerting me to the issue!
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.6 (5/16/2010)
New Features- This version adds a new script, that lets you change your photo's aspect ratio. The name is 'Crop with format'. In addition to choosing the new aspect ratio you can select whether a photo's portrait or landscape orientation should be preserved.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.5 (5/9/2010)
Bug Fixes- This version corrects a bug from the previous version that could lead to unpredictable results in some cases.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.4 (4/5/2010)
New Features- The screen saver no longer starts during batch conversion. This used to be a cause for errors, when the batch job was using other functions than iPhoto's enhance. Plus - the solution doesn't involve any tinkering with your screen saver settings!
- iPhoto Batch Enhancer now presents a warning in the rare case that program initialization has failed.
Bug Fixes- The application's preferences are being read correctly no matter whether boolean values are saved as text or numerical values.
- The message IBEGenericError is now being replaced by more meaningful text.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.3 (10/18/2009)
Bug Fixes- This version contains the activated workaround for the Apple Event bug. The last version contained the code for the workaround, but it was never executed...
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.2 (10/18/2009)
Bug Fixes- Added a workaround for a bug in Snow Leopard's handling of Apple Events that could cause sporadic timeout errors during batch processing.
- License keys now also work when the suffix '.xml' has been added, for example after being downloaded in Safari.
- Added a more descriptive error message when iPhoto has crashed. Also added a direct link to Apple support pages with information on rebuilding your library.
- Now an error sound is being played instead of a success sound after an error occurred during batch processing.
- Switching to other applications, for example Firefox, no longer opens a window asking for the application's location. It is advisable to let your computer do its job when iPhoto Batch Enhancer is running a batch job anyway.
- Creating, duplicating or deleting Snapshots no longer causes entries in the console log concerning the use of a 'deprecated function'.
- The extra message about transmitting anonymous data when looking for new versions has been removed since it was a duplicate.
- Now skipping missing image files works again. They sometimes can (not!) be found in damaged iPhoto Libraries.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0.1 (8/30/2009)
New Features- iPhoto Batch Enhancer is now compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard"!
Bug Fixes- Fixed a problem that kept the application from launching or "remembering" the current actions on a restart when used with Mac OS X 10.6.
- Fixed a problem when actions were being imported and unneeded data fields were empty.
iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3.0 (8/23/2009)
This is the first regular version of iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3. The beta phase has ended. From now on iPhoto Batch Enhancer 3 is available as shareware. After a free trial phase of two weeks you must obtain a license key to be able to continue using the great features.
New Features- Now you can choose up to six actions in the main window (up from four).
- The progress bar now is being shown immediately after clicking 'Apply' to show that the application received the click and indeed has started working.
- Added a splash window when launching, which is nearly in good taste.
- Added a window with information on the software license with a print button. You have to accept the license on the first run of the application. If you wish you can access the license via the help menu again later.
- Moved error reporting and update check to the help menu.
Bug Fixes- Fixed a bug that could pop up on certain system configurations when moving a window.
- The display of the 'valid until' date of the beta/trial version sometimes was wrong by one day. This has been corrected.
- Fixed a bug that would display the snapshot window on startup even when it was closed during the last use of the application.
- A rare error with respect to other applications has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug that would result in an error when a movie file should have been skipped.
